I regularly attend both the Cobham & Leatherhead and Reigate groups, and the format works brilliantly for me as a professional services business owner. The 8am–10am timing is ideal as it allows you to network properly without taking up the whole working day. What I particularly like is that the meetings are structured and professional, but still very relaxed and welcoming. There’s no pressure to force referrals or pass leads, which makes building genuine relationships much more natural. Ironically, because of this approach, I’ve both passed and received a significant amount of business through the group. It’s led to new clients, project work, collaborations and even introductions to excellent suppliers I now work with regularly. Another huge benefit is the opportunity to sub at other Connect Surrey groups, which really broadens your network and gives you the chance to meet a wide variety of local business owners and professionals. I hope they will forgive me for saying so, but this is business networking for people that don't really 'do' business networking. It's relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure to pass referrals, just lots of opportunities to collaborate and share. Also, there's always a good mix of people in the room whether you are at Cobham, Reigate, Guildford or Farnham. Highly recommended for business owners, and managers.
